Much of Grainne’s work is providing clients with perfect replicas of existing masterpieces.
A perfect replica is precisely that – an uncannily identical twin of the original. Colour and composition will be totally faithful - with the important proviso that a replica in oil will look ten times more vibrant than any print or reproduction. The colours will, for example, change with the light throughout the day.
Just as importantly, each is produced with a forensic attention to the techniques employed by the original artist. Oil paint takes time to dry, which is why some commissions may require extra time to produce (such as heavily layered or impasto styles.)
The result is a beautiful, living copy that is almost indistinguishable from the original.
